On The Bench

Well I am back in the job market today. When searching TSM positions I notice there are quite a few positions available out there. I wonder how long it took those of you out there to find new positions? I'm pretty optimistic. At least for the moment.

I was let go due to cost cutting demanded from the higher ups, so I'm thankful I can use Infocrossing as a solid reference. If anyone has suggestions or is hiring feel free to send me an e-mail.

  1. Hi Chad, just stumbled across your site today for the first time and saw this posting. To answer your question, it took me just short of 4 months to find a new position. Like you I was unwilling to move at first, with 8 years of TSM experience and 15 total in IT, I thought I'd have no problem finding oa job. Well now I've moved to Arizona from Michigan for a job because nothing was available at home. Best of luck in your search and hope you don't have to relocate.

  2. Did you get with Catholic Healthcare or Amex? I can't move due to a custody issue, not because I'm not willing. My kids come first and I wont move away from them. Funny you moved from Michigan, I just saw some postings on Indeed.com for TSM admin jobs with Ford in MI.

  3. Amex. Had to leave the wife and daughter behind. So they have each other and they will travel back and forth to come out here and see me. Yeah, I have been talking to Ford to gauge their interests...it's nice being out of the mid-west, but miss my family a bunch so if something was to present itself I'd have to consider it. My severance ran out, so I had to get back to work, too hard to make it on one income.

  4. Not sure if you saw, but I live in AZ. I currently reside in Gilbert. I was hoping to get on with AMEX since my old IBM boss once ran the account for Storage (Cos Ianelli) but they supposedly closed the req. If you end up leaving to go to Ford put my name in for the spot.

  5. Sure thing...if I don't go and another spot opens up, I'll let you know. Gilbert's about 45 minutes from here, so not a bad commute. It's a weird environment from past companies I've worked. It's all design, engineering & testing in the lab. We don't touch production and can't even get into it. But it's sure nice not carrying a pager and getting called in on weekends!

  6. I was dumped in the middle of this financial crap that is still going on. It took me two and 1/2 months to get back on the horse. I had to settle for a little less than I was making but I did find something in the same field. Good luck
